Questions about registration and eligibility

Who can benefit from the Cumulus Employee Discount?

The employee discount is granted to employees and apprentices who are covered by the Migros National Collective Employment Agreement (L-GAV Migros) – regardless of their level of employment. Eligibility requires a permanent employment contract or a fixed-term employment contract of at least one month. Persons living in the same household as the employee are also eligible.

Information on eligibility in companies that are not covered by the L-GAV, please the HR department of the respective company.

Retirees are not eligible the Cumulus Employee Discount.

How can I benefit from the Cumulus Employee Discount if I am not yet 18 years old?

Even if you are under 18, you can benefit from the Cumulus Employee Discount. The discount applies to you and all people living in your household. You can only open your own Cumulus account upon reaching the age of 18. Until then, the Cumulus number of an adult person living in the same household may be used.

Which companies are covered by the Migros National Collective Labour Agreement (L-GAV) as of 2027?
What are the requirements for participation?

To benefit from the Cumulus Employee Discount, you need:

  1. An active Cumulus account
  2. A Cumulus number stored in the HR system (SuccessFactors Employee Central: View My Profile > Personal Data > Personal Information > Cumulus Number); Contact your HR department if you need assistance.

If you would like to benefit from the Cumulus Employee Discount from September 1, 2026, the Cumulus account must be registered in your name. If there is already an active Cumulus account in your household under another person's name, you must open your own Cumulus account in your name (link). You may then share the new Cumulus number other members of your household.

Exception: Minor apprentices may use a Cumulus account that belongs to an adult living in the same household.

Where can I find my Cumulus number?

Your Cumulus number can be found in your Migros account, in the Migros app, and on your physical Cumulus card.

What should I do if I do not yet have a Cumulus card?

Anyone who does not yet have a Cumulus card can register online and free of charge digitally via this link. After receiving a Cumulus number, you can immediately start collecting points as a Migros customer.

To receive employee bonus points, your Cumulus number must also be registered in the HR system. You can enter your Cumulus number in SuccessFactors Employee Central as follows: View My Profile > Personal Data > Personal Information > Cumulus Number; if you have any questions, your HR department will be happy to help. Points cannot be credited retroactively for previous purchases.

When can I start receiving employee bonus points?

Employee bonus points are granted no earlier than the month in which your first working day falls, provided that your Cumulus number has been recorded in the HR system.

Questions about collecting and redeeming points

When can I start collecting Cumulus points and employee bonus points?

As soon as you have a Cumulus card, you can collect Cumulus points as a Migros customer. Once you store your Cumulus number in SuccessFactors Employee Central, employee bonus points will also be credited.

Where can Cumulus points be collected and redeemed?

An overview of all participating collection and redemption partners can be found here. In the course of the first quarter of 2027, redemption of Cumulus vouchers will also become possible at Digitec Galaxus.

Where and for which products will employee bonus points be granted, and how many?

Until the end of December 2026, the current Cumulus Employee Discount regulations apply. Further information can be found here.

From January 1, 2027, additional points will be granted uniformly in all Swiss Migros supermarkets as well as in Migros Restaurants (self-service restaurants of the Migros Cooperatives). For every 1 regular Cumulus point, employees will receive 9 additional employee bonus points.

No employee bonus points will be granted for purchases made through Migros Online, migrolino, Migrol, or VOI. This also applies to service offerings.

The new regulations effective January 1, 2027, will be published in due course.

Can the Cumulus Employee Discount be combined with promotional days?

Yes. Employee bonus points are also credited for purchases made during promotional campaigns (e.g. 10% discount days for store openings or Cumulus promotions). The benefits are added together, not multiplied.

Example of collecting points on a 10% discount day:

  • You purchase goods worth CHF 100 and pay CHF 90 after the 10% discount. You receive 90 regular Cumulus points for this purchase.
  • For the CHF 90 paid, you receive an additional 810 employee bonus points (90 × 9).
  • In total, 900 Cumulus points are credited to your account for this purchase. This corresponds to CHF 9 in Cumulus vouchers.
  • On this 10% discount day, you therefore save CHF 10 as an immediate discount and receive an additional CHF 9 in the form of Cumulus vouchers. This corresponds to a total benefit of CHF 19 (CHF 10 + CHF 9).

Example of collecting points on days with 3x Cumulus points:

  • You purchase goods worth CHF 100 and receive 300 regular Cumulus points (100 × 3).
  • For the CHF 100 paid, you receive an additional 900 employee bonus points (100 × 9).
  • In total, 1,200 Cumulus points are credited to your account for this purchase (300 + 900). This corresponds to a benefit of CHF 12 in the form of Cumulus vouchers.

For this reason, Migros deliberately refers to additional employee bonus points rather than “double” or “multiple” Cumulus points.

How are employee bonus points calculated?

Employee bonus points are calculated monthly and paid out every two months in the form of Cumulus vouchers. You can find your employee bonus points in your Cumulus statement and in the Migros app under “Receipts”.

Only the standard Cumulus points are shown on the receipt itself. It looks the same as the receipt issued to regular Cumulus customers.

Questions about blue Cumulus vouchers

Are employee Cumulus vouchers different from regular Cumulus vouchers?

No, the employee discount is fully integrated into the Cumulus program. Collecting and redeeming points works the same as for all other Cumulus customers. There is no difference at the checkout. It is not visible who benefits from the employee discount.

Administrative questions & support

What happens when I leave Migros or retire?

Eligibility for employee bonus points ends at the end of the calendar month in which the employment relationship ends or upon retirement. After you leave Migros, the employee discount is automatically deactivated.

If you move to another company covered by the L-GAV, you must apply again through your new employer.

How should changes be handled?

If your Cumulus number changes (e.g. because you open a new Cumulus account in your own name), the new number must be entered in the HR system (SuccessFactors Employee Central: View My Profile > Personal Data > Personal Information > Cumulus Number). Contact your HR department if you need assistance.

Changes to your personal details, such as your name or address, must be reported directly to Cumulus. To do so, you can contact the Cumulus Infoline (0848 85 0848) or update the information in your Migros account.

Important: HR departments are not responsible for updating your personal details in Cumulus.

Who can help me with further questions?

If you have questions about your Cumulus account or your Cumulus card, the Cumulus Customer Service team will be happy to assist you. For questions about the Cumulus Employee Discount, please contact your HR department.
