As a retail assistant, you will provide customers with expert advice and carry out payment transactions at the checkout. You will ensure that the goods are presented attractively in the shop, organise orders and store the products correctly. The profession offers variety through different specialisations such as food, textiles or electronics. Friendliness and resilience are important, as you will be in frequent contact with customers.

As an EFZ retail specialist (food), you sell bread, cheese, fruit and more. You advise customers on nutritional content and correct storage, order goods and present them attractively. Organisation and hygiene are important. An interest in nutrition and good interpersonal skills are advantageous. You design sales areas, check deliveries and ensure a positive shopping experience. A flair for advice and sales is crucial for success.

As a commercial assistant, you plan, manage and advise while maintaining an overview, and combine independent PC-based work with communication tasks. You write offers, place orders, organise events and issue invoices.

Plant operator EFZ
As a plant operator, you work in the production hall, where you will operate and monitor large production and packaging systems. You set up and adjust the systems to ensure maximum productivity. You carry out maintenance work and minor repairs independently. In the event of malfunctions, you intervene quickly to find and rectify faults.
Automation technician EFZ
As an automation technician, you build electrical controls and systems for machines such as conveyor belts and packaging systems. You work together with other specialists, commission these machines and repair them if necessary. You wire up the parts and programme control systems on the computer to ensure that the production processes run smoothly.
Automation technician EFZ
As an automation technician, you will be responsible for the production, installation and maintenance of machines such as production, packaging and conveyor systems. You will wire up electrical equipment, carry out commissioning and check functionality using modern testing and measuring instruments. You will also expertly rectify faults on appliances.
Automotive specialist EFZ
As an automotive specialist, you are a professional in the workshop. You test and repair engines, drives and chassis and are familiar with all vehicle systems. Using computer-aided measuring and testing equipment, you will restore the functioning of electrical, safety and comfort systems such as headlights and air conditioning systems. You will also advise customers.
Automotive mechatronics technician EFZ
As an automotive mechatronics technician, you are an expert in vehicle electronics. You will install and maintain electronic components, carry out functional and system tests and rectify faults using electronic data. This is how you get engines, drives and chassis up and running again. A future-proof job, as vehicles increasingly contain electronics.
Electrician EFZ
As an electrician, you install, test and maintain electrical installations in buildings. You lay cables, install switch boxes and commission electrical appliances. In the event of faults, you carry out repairs and conversions. In addition to the manual work, contact with customers is also important.
Specialist in operational maintenance EFZ
As a maintenance specialist, you maintain and clean buildings and green spaces. You monitor the building services, carry out minor repairs, mow lawns and dispose of waste. Your tasks are varied and include repairing taps, installing motion detectors and clearing snow.
Refrigeration systems technician EFZ
As a refrigeration systems technician, you work on freezer rooms, air conditioning systems and refrigeration systems in grocery stores. You install, maintain and repair the systems. Your tasks include laying pipework, installing components such as electric motors, pumps and fans as well as checking seals.
Technical designer EFZ
As a technical designer at Migros, you create detailed technical drawings for various devices and mechanical systems. It is your job to precisely record the dimensions and calculations of the individual parts and ensure that they meet the client's requirements exactly.
Logistics specialist EBA/EFZ
As a logistics specialist, you transport, store and distribute various goods. You receive goods, check them and ensure that they are stored correctly. You check stocks and forward goods with the correct delivery documents. This also includes packing and labelling the goods as well as driving the forklift truck.
Installation electrician EFZ
As an installation electrician, you ensure that buildings and systems are safely supplied with electricity. You lay cables, install switch boxes and connect devices. You carry out new builds, conversions and repairs on site, always adhering to safety and environmental protection regulations.
Polymechanic EFZ
As a polymechanic, you produce component parts and tools for production systems. You use modern, computer-controlled machines to programme and monitor production. You also commission and maintain systems. Your job includes both computer work and manual activities such as milling and drilling.
Production mechanic EFZ
As a production mechanic, you produce and process components made of metal and plastic. You assemble parts and maintain appliances. You are proficient in techniques such as drilling, turning, soldering and welding and work in the repair service or in assembly.
Recycler EFZ
As a recycler, you turn old materials into valuable, reusable materials. You inspect, sort and store waste materials appropriately and work on them using machines, which you also maintain. Your work makes a significant contribution to environmental protection.
Carpenter EFZ
As a carpenter, you make furniture and building elements and work on interior fittings. You use hand tools and digitally controlled machines, process wood, plastics and metals, draw up construction plans and liaise with customers.
Road transport specialist EFZ
As a road transport specialist, you transport goods safely and reliably. You know the transport regulations, make lorries roadworthy, load them properly and carry out minor maintenance work.
Buildings and grounds technician EBA
As a buildings and grounds practitioner, you make sure that everything is in order. You repair broken things, maintain green spaces and prune trees and shrubs. You clear paths and mow lawns.

As a packaging technologist, you produce packaging and ensure that it is perfectly coordinated with the product. You operate and monitor machines that mould, fill and seal packaging. You check the quality of the packaging and ensure that the products can be transported and stored safely.

In your EBA apprenticeship as a baker/pastry chef/confectioner, you will learn to make and decorate bread, patisserie and confectionery products. You'll use modern equipment and also work a lot with your hands. After baking, you thoroughly clean your workplace and the appliances.

As a meat specialist in delicatessen and finishing, you will present meat products, serve customers and give cooking tips. You produce ready-to-cook items, meat and fondue platters and delicatessen products.
Meat production specialist EFZ
As a meat production specialist, you cut up animal carcasses, prepare pieces of meat and produce high-quality products. You pay attention to hygiene and quality and learn how to handle food with respect.
Meat processing specialist EFZ
As a meat processing specialist, you produce sausages, ham and other meat products. You season, mould and finish the products, always paying attention to quality and hygiene.
Poultry specialist EFZ
As a poultry specialist EFZ, you will raise chicks and care for them until they are fully grown. You slaughter, cut up and process poultry professionally. You pay attention to hygiene, quality and animal welfare. You also produce poultry specialities and advise customers on products and preparation.
Biology laboratory technician EFZ
As a biology laboratory technician, you will analyse samples in the food sector and carry out research and graphical evaluations on the computer. You contribute to research, development and quality control.
Chemistry laboratory technician EFZ
As a laboratory technician in chemistry, you will analyse chemical substances and evaluate results. You work in the lab and on the computer and are involved in new findings and discoveries.

As a food technologist, you will produce food and beverages, operate machines and package products. You follow strict hygiene and occupational safety regulations.

Print media polygraph EFZ
As a print media polygraph, you edit texts, images and graphics for print and digital media. You work with design programs and typographic rules to create printable layouts of a very high standard.
