We promote talent. For our young talent programmes, we are looking for knowledge-hungry and dynamic talents who want to advance their career or take it in a new direction.

Take the lead

No matter what your background, whether you are a career changer from a related profession, have completed a retail apprenticeship or have some initial professional and management experience, we are looking for doers. Three modules

The following modules will be part of your training programme

Young talent programme

Introduction

You will get to know your department and gain an overview of everyday life. You will receive a step-by-step introduction to the various tasks. Together with your supervisor, you will draw up a detailed training plan.

Young talent programme

Training

In the second phase, you will get to know the tasks of a specialist manager or area manager and apply them yourself, e.g. action planning, maintaining the ordering system, stocktaking, staff deployment planning.

Target function

In the third and final phase, you will put into practice what you have learned on the young talent training programme and take on the role of specialist manager or divisional manager at a suitable location.

Store manager

With the young talent programme, we offer you a targeted training programme that will prepare you for managing a Migros store. Exciting tasks await you in store management.

  • Customer-oriented store management
  • Responsibility for the freshness, quality and availability of products
  • Responsibility for the management and development of department heads, section leaders and employees as well as the development of junior staff
  • Attainment of sales and cost targets
  • Ensuring defined procedures are followed

Duration: approx. 12-18 months

Department head

As a department head , you are responsible for a section of for a whole area within the supermarket and for the management and development of the section leaders and employees.

  • Customer-oriented management of a department or a section
  • Responsibility for the freshness, quality and availability of products
  • Shared responsibility for the management and development of employees and for the development of junior staff
  • Attainment of sales and cost targets
  • Ensuring defined procedures are followed in your department

Duration: approx. 6-12 months

Section leader

As a section leader , you are responsible for a section of the supermarket and the professional management of its employees.

  • Customer-oriented management of a department or a section
  • Responsibility for the freshness, quality and availability of products
  • Shared responsibility for the management and development of employees and for the development of junior staff
  • Attainment of sales and cost targets
  • Ensuring defined procedures are followed in your section

Duration: approx. 6-12 months
