It's the year 2000

Sick of the high cost of gaming PCs, three friends start building their own computers. In doing so, they catch the interest of fellow PC buffs they know. Orders start flooding in and production gets moving. Why not turn this into a business? No sooner said than done. And with that, Digitec is born.

Growth and foundation of Galaxus

The company grows rapidly, going on to become Switzerland’s leading electronics supplier. In 2012, the founders take their business idea to the next level and launch Galaxus, an online department store selling all sorts of products.

Galaxus expands into the EU

Galaxus Deutschland GmbH was founded in Germany at the end of 2018 as a fully owned subsidiary of Digitec Galaxus AG. Galaxus went live in Austria in 2021, with Italy, France, Belgium and the Netherlands following suit in 2023.

Our values

Rigid hierarchies, restrictive department boundaries and paralysing bureaucracy – that’s everything we don’t stand for. We value teamwork, treat everybody as equals and are obsessed with mastering challenges efficiently and effectively. The crazier a solution seems, the keener we are. And there’s one thing we’re unbeatable at: celebrating important events and achievements with exuberant parties.
